Police are on the hunt for a 38-year-old man who drove a car into the path of his mother, killing her on the scene at Lot 8 Saywah Cane Grove, East Coast Demerara on Tuesday.
63-year-old Ena Seecharran is dead following the incident. Police Headquarters revealed that the car #HD 1726 was parked on the bridge; the gate was locked and Ena was standing in the yard behind the locked gate.
Police Headquarters revealed that the sun was parked on the bridge in front of the home, while his mother stood on the other side of the locked gate. Her husband told the Police that his son started the vehicle and drove forward.
The vehicle reportedly crashed through the gate and collided with Ena, who fell to the ground. The vehicle ended up on a concrete wall in the yard and came to a standstill.
The left side of the car ran over Ena, which caused her to receive injuries about her body.
The husband reportedly picked the fallen woman up and took her to the Mahaicony Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police are unclear on whether the act was deliberate. They are looking for the driver who fled the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
