The sod was turned today for the construction of the new Brickdam Police Station A’ Division. The new police station which is being built by R Bassoo Construction in partnership with the Qing Jian Group Company Guyana Incorporated is valued at US $28 million and will comprise 12 stories.
The construction of the new facility which has a project timeline of 30 months is “the single largest infrastructural project to be undertaken by the Ministry of Home Affairs. When completed, the facility, which will have the capacity to house some 2000 people, will also include the traffic, finance, impact base, and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) among others.
The Brickdam Police Station was destroyed by fire on October 2, 2021.
