Seventeen firefighters completed the five-day Basic Operators training for the Bronto Skylift today January 30, 2024. The training instructor was Ahmad Alkhawaja, a representative of the firm that constructed the Skylift.
Participants learned how to place the unit, do basic maintenance, and operate the Skylift. The extensive training covered critical safety practices before utilizing, driving, and operating the equipment. This training not only sharpened their talents but also expanded their knowledge of the tools they would be working with.
Mr. Robeson Benn, Minister of Home Affairs, stated during Monday’s Annual Review and Projections Press Conference that this skylift will provide the Guyana Fire Service with easier access to the country’s new high rises.
