On January 29, the Department of Education-Georgetown launched its Children’s Mashramani Competition 2024 at the National Cultural Center.
The competition concludes on Friday, February 2. The next five days will see students from schools across the capital competing in various areas, such as dance, physical display, calypso, and poetry.
Mashramani 2024 will be observed under the theme “Celebrating Our Peoples and Our Prosperity”.
Mashramani this year promises to be the biggest celebration to date, as events will be expanded to Regions Three, Six, Nine, and Ten.
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Director of National Events, Andrew Tyndall has said that the Ministry plans to evolve and enrich the festival, as it is a unique and important Guyanese product.
The Mashramani Calendar of Events, which was unveiled a week ago, will have activities spanning from February 16 to March 10.
The first event of the series is the Children’s Mashramani Competition at the National Cultural Centre, which will feature the best cultural items from the regions across the country
