Kalico Guyana Inc is facing a termination of the contract awarded to the company for the Conversation Tree to Dennis Street Road Project. While the company has not been given an official stop order by the Ministry of Public Works, the Minister of Public Works has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the works done by the Trinidadian company.
The impending termination of the contract is due to the poor performance of the company even after being given several extensions by the Ministry and the fact that works have halted.
Minister Edghill told the News Room that the Ministry’s attempt to engage the company has been difficult because the company’s principals reside overseas.
The project, which was scheduled to be completed in January was awarded to the company for the sum of $830,293,458.
This afternoon, President Ali and Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill conducted a walkthrough to inspect the works done by the company.
