GWI announces bids for water improvement projects in Region 9

Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) has announced bids for two water improvement projects aimed at enhancing water service delivery in Guyana.

The first project, titled “Re-Engineering of Sewer Pump Stations, Georgetown, Region No. 4,” involves the rehabilitation of sewer pump stations in Guyana’s capital city, Georgetown. This project is crucial for improving sanitation and wastewater management in the city.

The Guyana Water Inc. has budgeted $28.5 million Guyana dollars (GYD) for this project.

The second project focuses on “Installation of New Water Supply in Hiowa, Region #9.” This project will provide much-needed access to clean water for residents of Hiowa, a community located in Region #9. The Guyana government has allocated $27.7 million GYD for this initiative.

Qualified Guyanese companies are invited to participate in the bidding process. Bidding documents can be purchased from the Cashier at Guyana Water Inc.’s Shelter Belt, Vlissengen Road and Church Street, Bel Air Park location for a non-refundable fee of GYD $5,000 per project.

Bids close on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at 9:00 am and will be opened in the presence of bidders or their representatives at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board located on Main and Urquhart Streets in Georgetown.
