The Guyana Tourism Authority has successfully implemented an innovative experiential travel training program to redefine tourism in Guyana and significantly enhance the country’s tourism offerings. A team of twenty-two industry professionals embarked on a three-day journey. The training was facilitated by Candace Phillips, GTA’s Manager of Product Development.

The session covered crucial aspects of experiential travel planning, from product design and itinerary development to crafting unforgettable tours. The training was  aimed at both burgeoning tour operators and seasoned professionals seeking to elevate their services.

Experiential travel, a concept that transcends mere sightseeing to immerse visitors in authentic cultural and environmental interactions, is increasingly recognized as vital to attracting modern travelers. By focusing on this cutting-edge area, the GTA is not only investing in the immediate growth of Guyana’s tourism sector but also ensuring its long-term sustainability and appeal on the global stage.

As Guyana continues to emerge as a premier destination for discerning travelers, initiatives like the Experiential Travel Training session are crucial. They not only equip local professionals with the tools to create compelling, meaningful travel experiences but also position Guyana at the forefront of the global tourism industry.
