Guyana ranks 59th among most powerful passports for 2024

Guyana has ranked 59th on the 2024 Henley Passport Index, among 199 passports. The Guyanese passport offers visa-free travel to 91 destinations. 

Barbados maintains the title of the most powerful passport in the Caribbean, ranking Number 22 globally. It offers visa-free travel to 165 countries around the world.  

The most powerful passports in the Caribbean for 2024 are: Barbados (#22), the Bahamas (#24), St Kitts and Nevis (#25), St Vincent and the Grenadines (#25), Antigua and Barbuda (#27) and Trinidad and Tobago (#29). 

The Henley Passport Index is based off of official data from the International Air Transport Association. Henley Passport Index is the most influential ranking of the world’s passports.  

Six countries share the number one spot, offering visa-free access to 194 countries. These are France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and Singapore. The index includes 199 passports and 277 travel destinations. 

Guyana’s rating has improved since 2023, where it was ranked 62nd globally. Visas are still required to travel to countries like China, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
