Guyana plans to target substantial investments in Agriculture and Infrastructure during its hosting of the Caribbean Investment Forum in July

Guyana is set to spotlight the vast investment opportunities available in agriculture, infrastructure, eco-tourism, manufacturing, and more during its hosting of the Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF).  

The Caribbean Investment Forum is slated to be held in Guyana from July 10 to 12 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre, Georgetown. The forum which will see hundreds of investors in attendance will focus discussions on the Digitalization of Business, Green Economy Transition, and Sustainable Agriculture.

Chief Investment Officer and Head of the Guyana Office for Investment, Dr Peter Ramsaroop disclosed to a section of the media that Guyana will utilize the investment opportunity provided by the forum to showcase several bankable projects across the various sectors to potential investors. 

Moreover, major investments will be sought for key infrastructural projects that can significantly enhance regional connectivity and trade such as the construction of ports.  

Participants are being urged to get their respective businesses ready for investments and do all the necessary preparations to ensure they can successfully engage with investors in attendance. Plans are in place to assist local business owners to improve how they present their businesses to investors 

To ensure that the business engagements that emanate from the forum are fruitful for both businesses and investors, Dr. Ramsaroop disclosed that it will be possible for B2B sessions to be booked through an app. 

The forum will also feature an expo comprising company booths from Guyana and the region. President Ali will be the keynote speaker at the event. 

 The primary objective of the forum is to facilitate business partnerships and joint ventures.
