In a move towards modernization, the Guyana Oil Company Limited (GUYOIL) has introduced a new Point-of-Sale (POS) payment service. The latest POS payment service seeks to significantly enhance the way customers can pay for fuel and accessories. Starting today, customers can now use their VISA or MasterCard credit and debit cards to make payments.

While Republic Bank is powering the service, it is available to all customers holding credit or debit cards from any local bank. In the first phase of the rollout, the POS system will be available at GUYOIL’s Providence, Regent Street, and Sheriff Street locations, with plans for a wider rollout across the nation shortly.

General Manager Molly Hassan highlighted that this initiative aims to improve service efficiency and elevate the overall customer experience.

GUYOIL is the first petroleum distributor in Guyana to implement such a service at the retail level. Customers can also utilise MMG as a payment option at service stations countrywide.
