Four training programs were launched at the Guyana Industrial Training Centre (GITC) today by Honorable Joseph Hamilton, Minister of Labour, Honorable Kwame McCoy, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, and Honorable Charles Ramson Jr., Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport.
Other officials in attendance included Mr. Jason Clarke, Mr. Rohan Bishop, Mr. Earl Pestano, and Mr. Richard Maughn, CEO of the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).
Over 40 Kitty locals registered for the four-month programs, which include Heavy-Duty Equipment Operation (HDEO), Electrical Installation, Welding and Fabrication, and Plumbing. BIT will organize the programs.
This morning’s announcement follows that of a few days ago when His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, along with other government ministers, conducted a ministerial outreach in Kitty.
During the outreach, President Ali told residents of the area that he is committed to enhancing the lives of locals by utilizing vocational training initiatives.
