Nestlé, the world’s largest food and beverage company is seeking local partners to package products in Guyana under the name Nestlé Guyana.
This was disclosed to a section of the media by the Chief Investment Officer and Head of the Guyana Office for Investment, Dr Peter Ramsaroop.
Dr. Ramsaroop also indicated that representatives from the company are already in Guyana evaluating potential partners.
“So, we are looking across the board for folks like Chief, who is doing the Parika packaging facility, other areas than can move into a partnership with Nestlé.”
Moreover, the possibility of having the company package local products is a discussion that is not off the table. Should this become a reality, it will boost the local economy and significantly enhance Guyana’s agro-processing capabilities.
Nestlé operates factories in 77 countries and sells its products in 188 countries.
