GAPSO and Labour Ministry discuss labour law compliance in private security sector

This morning, representatives of the Guyana Association of Private Security Organizations (GAPSO) met with the Honourable Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, to discuss the current state of the country’s workers’ rights and labour laws within the private security industry. 

 The meeting, held at the ministry’s Brickdam office, focused on potential collaboration areas through training programmes, and exploring opportunities for enhancing the protection of workers’ rights and ensuring compliance with labour laws. 

GAPSO’s team comprised President, Mr Christopher Thompson, Secretary, Mr Ghalee Khan, Public Relations Officer, Ms Shemaine Pilgrim, Executive Members, Mr Keron Sooklall, Mr Clement Baird, and Mr Omali Kendall. 

Since its establishment some 30 years ago, GAPSO seeks to promote the highest industry standards through advocacy, collaboration, education, and the promotion of high ethical standards in the operation; and management of security services within Guyana.
