Rondel Stephen, a 41-year-old Farmer of Henrietta, Essequibo Coast, was charged with Possession of Narcotics for Trafficking. He was found in possession of 33.99 grams of Cannabis (marijuana).
The defendant, who was found in possession of the narcotic drugs on December 9th, 2023, at Mainstay, Essequibo Coast, was charged under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
The defendant appeared virtually from prison, at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam, where he indicated to Magistrate Sam that he wished to change his plea to guilty.
Stephen was sentenced to two years imprisonment and fined $50,985.
