On Monday at the Arthur Chung Conference Center, Liliendaal, Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh presented the country’s 2024 National Budget.

The historic 2024 Budget was 46.6% larger than that of 2023, being fully financed with no new taxes. It totals $1.146 trillion and contains a mix of people centered measures.

“The housing sector is yet another one of those sectors undergoing dramatic and rapid transformation since we assume office”.

Since the PPP/C Government assumed office, over 30,000 house lots were allocated. This is in pursuit of their target to distribute 50,000 lots during their first term.

Dr. Singh stated that since the 2020 return to power, 6,822 land titles and transports have been delivered to residents. They plan to distribute 5,000 more in 2024.

The Government is working towards reducing the housing deficit, by providing opportunities through the Dream Realized housing drive.

The 2024 budget allocation will allow for the continuation of the construction 1,134 more homes, along with the continuation of investments in new and existing housing areas.

Additionally, the initiative for the single-window approval system for building permits will be launched.
