In what can be described as a move to significantly enhance bilateral relations between Guyana and South Korea, Guyana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Korea His Excellency Cho Tae-yul engaged in talks on the sidelines of 3rd Summit for Democracy in Seoul South Korea. The summit was held between the period March 18th to 20th, 2024.
The importance of food security and the potential for knowledge sharing in the use of innovative agricultural technologies were also discussed. Guyana is rich in agricultural potential and is leading the charge for achieving food security in Caricom while South Korea is known for its technological prowess in the area of agriculture. A collaboration between Guyana and South Korea can help Guyana to address pressing issues in the local agriculture sector
