Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana has formally opened its commercial office at Lot 58 David Street, Kitty. The airline offers weekly direct flights between Las Américas International Airport Santo Domingo and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

His Excellency Ernesto Torres Pereyra, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, noted that this project is without a doubt the most significant endeavor undertaken by the Guyana-Dominican Republic alliance in history. Furthermore, he stated that this is solely because of the project’s potential to develop a more dynamic interaction in trade and tourism, as well as in all areas of official collaboration between the two nations.

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Hon, Hon. Oneidge Walrond at the opening ceremony underscored that this collaboration is a testament that the investors are seeing the vision for the development of the tourism product and Guyana’s tourism sector. Further she emphasized that the current administration is aiming to diversify Guyana’s Tourism Product significantly to attract international visitors constantly. It is hoped that by 2027, the country will be able to accommodate an influx of over 2 million people traveling to Guyana for a variety of reasons, whether for business or pleasure.

Sky High Aviation Services Dominicana joins a number of other efforts born out of successful regional and international partnerships, including the Guyana, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago Ferry service, as well as the Qatari Assets Group’s Georgetown Resort and Conference Center. Guyana is riding high from its oil-fueled prosperity and is adamant about allowing the waves of progress to permeate every sector.
